Klara Lord (b. 1982) is a swedish artist working with an experimental approach to ceramics. She lives and works in Gothenburg, where she combines her art practice with teaching the craft of ceramics. Her work is characterized by a curiosity about material and the transformation that takes place in the firing. By creating conditions where the materials expand, grow, flow or collapse in the kiln, the material is a co-creator, expressing material agency and adding an element of surprise. By the topics of waste, decay, food, consumption and desire, she creates sculptural installations and contemplates on how we value and relate to the material world around us.
Klara Lord has an MFA Degree in Ceramic Art from HDK-Valand 2024, Studied Sculpture in Göteborgs Konstskola, and Philosophy and Aesthetics at Södertörn University in Stockholm.
