Ellen Arolin (b. 1995, Gothenburg) is a textile artist and designer who primarily utilizes the loom as a tool in her practice. Recently, she has delved into image weaving and explored people and portraits as motifs. She holds a bachelor's degree in Textile Design from The Swedish School of Textiles in Borås and has pursued advanced studies in hand weaving and embroidery at the Friends of Handicraft School in Stockholm.
Ellen believes in the unifying power of the tactile, the knowledge of the hand, and inherited craft traditions. In addition to her own artistic pursuits, she works as a course leader in hand weaving at Medborgarskolan and as a museum educator at Skansen, where she conducts historical craft activities for children, among other responsibilities.
