Moira Nilsson (b.1998) works in a variety of different textile crafts and techniques. Weaving, machine knitting and felting being just a few. Nilsson dives deep into the details and fibers, the structures and surfaces. She finds both the tension and the merge between different materials and techniques. Her works share narratives around the human perception of nature and our surroundings, stretching from window reflections to the rots of fallen trees. Letting the flat develop into sculptures and installations, both in bigger and smaller scales.
Moira Nilsson currently based in Dals Långed, Sweden, started her art studies 2017 at Nyckelviksskolan. She continued with two years at Stenebyskolan. In the spring of 2023 she finished her bachelor in Textile-Body-Space at HDK-Valand Campus Steneby, with one semester of the Bachelor Spent at Tama Art University in Tokyo.
