Helena Pernow (b.1992) is an artist working in the field of textile, with a MFA from HDK-Valand Steneby. In techniques such as dyeing, weaving, sewing and installation she explore both the material qualities of textile as well as its ability to carry memories and stories. Material relationships and tactile memories are often the starting point for her artistic explorations. Her works highlight the role of textiles as a link between the body and the outside world.
Since her masters degree her work has been shown in exhibitions around Sweden, including GIBCA Extended, Galleri Syster (Luleå) Stockholm Craft Week, Craft Days (Gothenburg), at Not Quite (Fengersfors), Dalslands Konstmuseum and KKV-Bohuslän (Gerlesborg). She is currently living and working in Bärfendal, Bohuslän.
