Statira Jazayeri (b. 1984, Gothenburg) is a textile artist with education from HDK-Valand in Gothenburg, The Swedish School of Textiles in Borås, and ESMOD Oslo. Her work traverses the realms of draped imagery, sculpture, and spatial installation, rooted in the fold's potential to convey rhythm, tension, direction, and balance. She finds fascination in the apparent contrasts within draped fabric: surface and depth, light and dark, valleys and peaks, undulating paths, straight distances, as well as variations in intensity between the folds. Sculptural work has always been integral to her practice, and she continually explores it in various forms.
Statira has exhibited her work at venues such as Fiberspace Gallery in Stockholm, Konstepidemin in Gothenburg, and the European Prize for Applied Arts in Belgium and Ireland.
